About the subclass 494 Visa - Employer Sponsored Stream (ESS)

ABOUT

This visa enables regional employers to address identified labour shortages within their region by sponsoring skilled workers where employers can't source an appropriately skilled Australian worker.

With this visa, migrants can:

  • Live, work and study only in designated regional areas of Australia for 5 years

  • Travel to and from Australia for 5 years

  • If eligible, apply for permanent residence after 3 years from the time their visa is granted.

OUR ROLE

When you nominate someone for a Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494) under the Employer Sponsored visa stream, a Regional Certifying Body must assess the annual market salary rate (AMSR) for the nominated position.

Regional Development Australia Southern NSW & ACT (RDASNA) is the Regional Certifying Body (RCB) for the Southern NSW region.

 

ELIGIBLE POSTCODES

Check that the business address is a relevant SESR postcode. This can be found via the DoHA website here Designated regional area postcodes

Australian Market Salary Rate and TSMIT

Under the subclass 494 visa, employers must meet certain salary requirements. This includes meeting the AMSR for the position and not less than the current Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) amount of $73,150.

FEES

Applications for a RCB assessment incur an administration fee of $770 (GST Inc). This fee is non-refundable. Once the application documents have been received you will be invoiced for the fee. We will not be able to begin the assessment until we have received payment.

Before you submit a request, please download the checklist below to ensure you have all the necessary documents. You will be unable to submit your request if you do not have all of your supporting documents ready.

You must also complete questions 1 -10 of the RCB 1404 form below

Once you have compiled the required supporting documentation and completed and signed the 1404 form, please submit your request.
